We recommend these universally because they protect against diseases that are highly contagious, widespread, extremely difficult to treat, and often fatal.
For dogs, the core vaccine is often referred to as DHPP. This combination shot protects against:
- Distemper: A devastating viral disease that attacks the respiratory, gastrointestinal, and nervous systems.
- Hepatitis (Adenovirus): A virus that targets the liver and kidneys.
- Parainfluenza: A highly contagious respiratory virus contributing to kennel cough.
- Parvovirus: A severe, highly contagious gastrointestinal virus.

By keeping high vaccination rates in domestic dogs and cats, we create a barrier that prevents the rabies virus from spreading from wildlife reservoirs—like raccoons, skunks, and foxes—into human homes and neighborhoods.
